A business blog helps deepen the relationship with your audience in the value that it creates. If you’re helping people solve problems or find creative ways to approach things, they’re going to want a bigger experience.

That could mean paying more for private coaching, attending events you sponsor, and helping spread the word to others. (In a sense, becoming part of your unpaid marketing team!)

Are You Trying to Showcase Your Expertise and Build Trust?

Blogging for a small business becomes a useful way for the business owner or manager to demonstrate the depth of their knowledge and experience. Plumbers can post how-to blogs on how to handle simple fixes.

Mechanics can show how to change out the battery in a 2021 Hyundai Sonata. The more of these specialized displays of knowledge they can share, the more they’ll develop a reputation and word-of-mouth.

Do You Need to Improve Search Engine Placement?

One of the big benefits of blogging for business is being able to grow search engine rank organically. Showing up on the first page of results for a given keyword is huge. That’s because most people don’t look past the first page when they’re looking for something online.

The key to this is understanding how to do keyword research and then including those keywords in your blog titles, headings, and throughout the body text in a way that doesn’t look spammy. (Hint: If it looks like you’re trying too hard, you probably are.)

Would You Like Better Leads and Higher Sales Conversion?

Finding good blog topics for a small business is also a way to improve the quality of the leads you’re getting. With better leads come higher sales conversion rates. Taking deep dives into the pain points your potential customers are having is a good way of making them actual customers.
