7 Tried and True Ways to Look Younger
Did you know that the fear of getting older is on the rise? While there are many health and financial-related reasons for this, it’s also not uncommon for people to feel anxious about “looking old.”
There’s nothing wrong with looking your age, but what does that even mean? What does it mean to look 40, 50, or even 70?
We’re here to talk about how to look younger and feel better as you get older. Read on to learn more.
1. Dress Well, Not “Age-Appropriate”
When it comes to “how to dress young,” many people misinterpret it. You don’t need to know how to dress younger or how to dress “for your age.” Instead, it’s all about dressing well.
People well into their forties and fifties can still follow trends and look fantastic. While you may not be shopping in the junior’s section anymore, you also don’t have to give up all of your favorite styles just because you think that you’re “too old” for them.
You’ll look younger when you look more comfortable and happy with what you’re wearing. Find clothes that make you feel confident. If that means that you’re wearing a mini skirt and a crop top, so be it (but you can still look young if you’re dressing modestly).
2. Start (or Modify) Your Skincare Routine
If you don’t already have a skincare routine, it’s time to start one. If you do, it might be time to make some changes.
At the very least, everyone should have sunscreen, a gentle face cleanser, and both a daytime and nighttime moisturizer.
On top of that, consider adding a few other products. Investing in a retinol serum and hyaluronic acid can make a big difference. We also recommend slugging if you don’t live in a humid area (putting on a layer of thick moisturizer or healing ointment over your moisturizer at night).
Sunscreen, however, is the most important. The sun is one of the top causes of premature skin aging.
3. Get Plenty of Exercise
Did you know that exercise can make you look (and feel) younger? It’s true. If you’re trying to figure out how to stay looking young, make sure that you have a good exercise routine.
Get at least 150 minutes of exercise every week. We recommend combining strength training with cardio and a flexibility-focused exercise, like yoga.
This will also help you maintain mobility and flexibility well into your golden years if you’re consistent.
4. Consider Aesthetic Procedures
Aesthetic procedures are getting more popular than ever among non-celebrities now that they’ve been normalized through influencer culture. There’s nothing wrong with getting something done if it makes you feel more confident.
There are plenty of minor procedures available that aren’t invasive and won’t have permanent results (which is a good thing, especially if you’re new to cosmetic procedures). For example, you could get a hyaluronic acid dermal filler to fill out your cheeks or laugh lines.
That’s How to Look Younger
Try these tips when you’re trying to figure out how to look younger. You don’t need expensive surgery to make yourself look more youthful. With a few small changes, you can age with grace.
