Frazier Khattri - Quiet Place

Frazier ‘Kay’ Khattri Goes to ‘A Quiet Place’ For Team Challenge

As a prominent content creator with millions of subscribers and followers around the world, Frazier ‘Kay’ Khattri’s favorite part of his job is being able to connect with his audience. Unlike other onscreen professions like acting, content creation is all about audience engagement and interaction, and that is what fuels Khattri.

“I like the feedback I receive from the people who enjoy my content. Receiving messages from fans who really enjoyed a video and were entertained is always a great feeling. It has allowed me to meet a lot of interesting people from all walks of life,” he says.

Khattri’s commitment to his fans is what sets him apart from so many others that try to achieve even a fraction of what he has. Whether working on his solo content, videos with his brother Jarvis on his second channel, or videos for FaZe Clan when he was running their main channel, Khattri always knows how to captivate the audience with the latest trends. This has allowed him to grow his channel to over 6 million subscribers, and his shared channel with his brother Jarvis to over 1.4 million. When he was running the FaZe YouTube, the channel of the largest gaming organization in the world and a near billion dollar business, it was gaining 50K to 70K subscribers weekly, an unprecedented number.

Khattri is often approached by brands to help promote their products through creative content. Just his endorsement alone is enough to reach the 7 million people that follow his day-to-day life on Twitter, and he has worked with companies such as Beats, KFC, Apple, and more. He also enjoys promoting movies, as his fans would know with his work on a video with FaZe for A Quiet Place Part 2 last year, the highly-anticipated sequel to the Oscar nominated film A Quiet Place. Going from his usual platform of YouTube to Twitter, he was in a video that was viewed by over 5 million people across various channels.

“I was a huge fan of the first movie, so I couldn’t believe it when they wanted us to help promote the sequel! Getting to work with the true professionals of the movie industry was a once in a lifetime experience. What we do is very different compared to them,” said Khattri.

The video features four members of FaZe, including Kay, and puts them through challenges where they are divided into teams and have to be as quiet as possible. They go through a set, featuring many key objects and places in the film, learning some sign language and competing with their friends.

“It was really fun as they had set up a variety of challenges to complete, and much of it is us authentically trying to work them out. It also felt extremely similar to being in a horror film so we were whispering the entire process. They had created some really amazing environments for each scene and I could instantly see the level of professionalism involved,” Khattri recalled.

As the talent in the video, Khattri utilized his existing fanbase to bring attention to the movie. This allowed the production to tap into the teen market, who prefers watching ad blocked YouTube videos to network television with commercials.

“I’m glad the producers were happy with the result and we got great feedback from the fans who shared our excitement for the movie,” said Khattri.

Ultimately, Khattri’s team lost the “Quiet Place” challenge as seen in the video, but the reward of connecting with his fans in such a fun and unique way was a far greater prize.
