Kaela Faloon’s reputation has been the truest testament to her success throughout her formidable career as an in-demand dancer in Canada and abroad. Whether she is working with a big-name artist or a new and emerging one, her work ethic, drive, and loyalty always remains consistent. This quality, combined with extraordinary talent and unparalleled knowledge in her field, have allowed her to rise quickly to the top, but she remains humble. She treats every day on a job as if it is her first professional job, as if it’s her first pay cheque, because she still remembers what it was like to be a struggling dancer with a dream. She never wants to lose that part of herself, and never takes any opportunity for granted.

This outlook has greatly impressed many leading choreographers and stars throughout North America and has led Faloon to working with Grammy winners like Mya and Shawn Mendes, to name a few. She is always looking for new ways to grow and develop her talent, and looks for opportunities to perform for the masses while doing so. When she had the chance to perform on Bell Media’s 2018 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards here in Toronto, Canada, she was immediately intrigued, and when she was given the chance to perform with Meghan Trainor, winner of four ASCAP Pop Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, a People’s Choice Award, and one Grammy, she knew it was just the opportunity she was looking for.

“I love how Meghan’s music is not only catchy and makes you want to dance, she also always has a way of delivering an empowering message within each song. Meghan truly embodies female empowerment and she is able to speak to the younger generation of females to help them understand the importance of embracing who they are, despite how ‘beauty’ is being portrayed in the media. She has stood strong in her beliefs, and has remained a constant role model for women. She continues to deliver pop hits that have a way of making you feel like you are perfect just the way you are, and to me that is the definition of a pop star. I respect her confidence in herself, in her music, and her consistency in delivering empowering and influential messages, despite the pressures she faces as a female pop star,” said Faloon.

Faloon is no stranger to the MMVAs, and performed with Flo Rida and Carly Rae Jepsen in 2012, Marianas Trench in 2013, Hedley in 2014, Nick Jonas in 2015, Fifth Harmony in 2016, and most recently, Meghan Trainor in 2018. Faloon loves performing for the show.  In their modern form, the MMVAs are held as a large street party around 299 Queen Street West, the main downtown Toronto studios of Much and other properties owned by its parent company Bell Media. Much VJs introduce and interview presenters and winners throughout the show. It has been broadcast on CTV, Canada’s leading private broadcaster and its most-watched television network, for the past 18 years in a row.

“I remember hearing the line-up of artists who would be performing at Toronto’s iHeartRadio MMVA’s and speaking it into existence that I would be one of the dancers chosen for Meghan Trainor’s performance. Not only do I admire Meghan as an artist, I truly admire her choreographer Charm La Donna. Charm has achieved so many accomplishments and goals at such a young age, and to me those are the career driven women I want to surround myself with. For me dance is my life purpose, and I want to inspire those around me to believe in their life purpose, and in order to do that at the capacity I want to, I desire to be surrounded by greatness, by the absolute best,” said Faloon.

The iHeartRadio MMVA’s performance was a huge success for Trainor’s career, as she performed a medley of her greatest hits that included her new singles “No Excuses“ and “Let You Be Right” as well as fan favorites “Me Too” and “All About That Bass.” Her performance was filled with high energy and elaborate costuming and choreography, which embodied everything that Trainor represents and kept her fans engaged and wanting more. Since that performance “Let You Be Right” peaked at number 18 on the US Billboard Adult Top 40 and at number 28 on the US Billboard Mainstream Top 40. “No Excuses” debuted and peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It peaked within the top 40 of a few countries such as Latvia, Slovakia, Hungary and Scotland. In addition to performing, Trainor was also nominated for Best Pop Artist or Group, for the iHeartRadio MMVA’S, a category that also included Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, and fellow performers Halsey, Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara.

“It feels so incredible knowing that I got to be a part of Meghan Trainor’s movement and success story. There is no better feeling dancing alongside an artist you believe in, and who in turn believes in using her platform for the wellness of her fans. Dancing to her music not only empowered me on a professional level but also on a personal level, and that is something that I strive for when manifesting future goals and aspirations. I want to not only elevate performances with my talent, but I also want to leave feeling elevated by the entire process. I left the performance with Meghan feeling fulfilled and accomplished, feeling like I was a part of something incredibly influential and life changing, and it motivated me to continue to manifest performance opportunities like this, where my talent is able to elevate a project whose purpose is to inspire the masses,” said Faloon.
