5 Water Sports You Need to Try This Year

Did you know that 30 to 90 percent of Americans report feeling bored at some point in a typical day? And younger people are more prone to this feeling of ennui or apathy with 91 to 98 percent of them reporting feeling this way daily.

Are you in the same boat? Do you wish to add a bit of excitement to your day, but don’t know how? How about trying out some new water sports?

They will add that level of excitement and risk to your week, making you feel alive again. Keep reading for 5 water sports to add to your summer activities list.

1. Water Rafting

This is a fun activity that you can do as a family or with a group of friends. If you haven’t tried it before, you are going to be surprised at how fun it is. In water rafting, you set up with a group on a raft and maneuver it through rapids, getting to see lots of mountain and river views, and experiencing paddling, turns, speed, and water splashes.

2. Jet Skiing

When the weather gets warm, and summer vacation is around the corner, one easy water sport to try is jet skiing. It’s easy enough to rent a jetski and then you can zoom around on it on the wavy ocean. Make sure to wear lifejackets and learn to control your speed while still keeping things exhilarating and fun.

3. Bodysurfing

If you have tried surfing and found it too difficult, why not try bodysurfing? In bodysurfing, you don’t use any buoyant device like surfboards or bodyboards, but ride a wave using your body alone. You would just need to have a pair of swim fins and a wooden or foam hand plane to help keep your chest out of the water.

4. Scuba Diving

Do you love the ocean and wonder about all the mysteries it holds? Why not go exploring this beautiful blue world by learning how to scuba dive. Scuba diving might seem complicated at first with all its equipment, but once you get used to breathing using a tube, you are going to wonder why you didn’t do this sooner.

5. Flyboarding

The modern era includes lots of wonders and one of them is that humans have learned to fly! Well, not exactly, but close enough. With flyboarding, you attach yourself to a wakeboard using a pair of boots and then the hose connected to the jetski uses water pressure to give thrust to those boots, allowing you to lift off into the sky.

New Water Sports Are Constantly Popping Up

The great thing about choosing water sports as one of your summer activities is that you will never get bored of it, as there are always new ones coming onto the sports scene. Get yourself situated near a waterbody next summer vacation and start trying all these water sports one by one.
