What is Glamping? Glamping vs. Traditional Camping

More than forty percent of vacations taken in 2021 were camping vacations.

But what if you’re just not that outdoorsy? What if you need your creature comforts? Well, have you considered trying out glamping as an alternative?

Read on to find out what is glamping and the differences between glamping and traditional camping.

What Is Traditional Camping?

Before you get into exploring glamping, it’s important to understand what goes into traditional camping.

But camping doesn’t necessarily mean you have to head into the woods with just a machete. There are lots of different levels of difficulty that you can try out if you’re interested in camping.

Usually, camping involves minimal amenities. You’ll usually have a tent, a sleeping bag, and maybe some form of air mattress. Depending on the campground you’ve chosen, there may be toilets, but there probably won’t be a shower. Some campers bring a camp stove, but many others make a campfire in order to cook their meals and help them stay warm.

Flashlights are very important when camping since it gets dark at night and there aren’t any streetlights to help you out.

What Is Glamping Camping?

If you’re just not interested in traditional camping, glamping might be the right choice for you. Glamping almost always involves a structure (like a glamping tent) you can actually stay in, along with a real bed and running water.

Usually, glamping trips will have electricity as well. Some glamping occasions will even offer WiFi, if you can’t afford to take quite that much time off work.

But, glamping still allows you to enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors. That makes it perfect for people who just can’t survive in the wild, but still want to enjoy nature.

You can put together your own glamping trip, if you feel like renting a camper caravan or an RV. These might be close to the camping experience, but with more of the comforts of home.

Or, you can look into experiences and resorts that offer glamping services. there are tons of different glamping resorts around the world for you to try out. The Zion glamping resort is one ideal option.

One of the benefits of glamping is that they’re better suited for a longer-term trip. Even the most ardent of survivalists probably don’t want to be out camping for more than a couple of days. But, if you want a trip that lasts a week or two, glamping is perfectly reasonable.

Glamping is also useful for people with health problems or allergies that might preclude them from traditional camping, which makes glamping a more accessible option.

Choose the Camping Experience That’s Right for You

Now that you know what is glamping, you can decide whether you’d like to go glamping, camping, or a mix of the two.
